Whale Patrol is an extremely important film for anyone who has an interest in whales and the way they interact with all of us. It takes us on an incredible journey, and focuses on some of the dedicated and deeply thoughtful people who make life and death decisions for whales as they enter our domain.

Inspiring, poignant and confronting, it deals with many sensitive and challenging issues affecting the lives of some of these remarkable animals. The film is beautifully made and provides a pragmatic, but sensitive perspective that will no doubt stimulate much thought and discussion.

Dr Nick Gales is a marine biologist and Leader of the Australian Marine Mammal Centre at the Australian Antarctic Division. He has a diverse background in applied marine mammal conservation science and is a scientific advisor to the International Whaling Commission.
